emergency accommodation reading and selection now underway...

After a brief, Edinburgh-centric hiatus, the reading and selection process for emergency accommodation is now underway - which means we've got some phonebook size piles of paper to wade through!

For all those who submitted can we just remind you to hold Saturday 17 September free in your diaries for technical meetings in case you are selected.  The selection meeting is Saturday 3 September - we will be in touch with everyone as soon as possible after that to let them know.

emergency accommodation - call for proposals

Saturday 1 October, 2011 - noon til 10pm
BLANKSPACE & International Anthony Burgess Foundation (IABF), Manchester.

In the wake of the closure of greenroom, our long running emergency platform has fled the safe confines of its black-box home and is taking shelter in the arms of BLANKSPACE and IABF.

This will be an emergency like you've never seen it before!

We DON'T have a fully fledged theatre or lots of equipment or money...
We DO have some really interesting spaces and a lot of energy to make something exciting happen!

CALLING ALL ARTISTS!

If you would like to join us in creating this unique emergency event, then send us a proposal for low-tech short performative works, durationals, one-to-ones, performance installations or interventions to happen in these two spaces, and even on the journey in between.

Full details of how to apply and of the spaces available below:
Open for proposals from 12 July,

Deadline 5pm 19 August 2011.

IABF's cafe is open  8am - 5pm weekdays, 10am - 5pm at weekends

In both cases, ask nicely and I'm sure they'll let you have a look around!

Failing a citywide zombie attack, emergency accommodation BLANKSPACE open evening tomorrow is business as usual!

Just a quick note to say that the open evening at BLANKSPACE (Thursday 11 August 1730-1930) is, for now, going ahead as planned... If the city is over-run by 'late night shoppers' again tonight we may think differently, but for now it's still on.
If you're planning on coming down, especially if you're travelling, please keep your eye on the news and the transport situation - and check back on this site.  We'll update if there are any changes.
